Celebrate Ontario’s 150th Anniversary in 2017 (Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport)
Ontario is marking the occasion in a meaningful way by investing in initiatives and events that will leave a lasting legacy for people across the province. Highlights include:
- Winter Week, a celebration of 100 years of hockey in Toronto at various City of Toronto rinks (January 3-8)
- National Canada Film Day 150, which will be the world’s largest one-day film festival ever hosted, featuring free screenings of Canadian movies across the province (April 19, 2017)
- Lieutenant Governor’s Visionaries Prize, youth fora to share ideas on building a brighter, stronger Ontario (September 13-October 3)
- Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event for wounded soldiers (September 23-30)
- EDIT – the Expo for Design Innovation + Technology, a 10-day international design festival that will explore how design and innovation can address global issues (September 28-October 8)
