Charge into Summer with New E-learning Opportunities

April brings new hope for a stronger, more active tourism season, as vaccines roll out and the desire to travel grows as consumer confidence increases. If you are tired of webinars and looking for a fun, interactive, and thought-provoking way to learn – this is your chance!  RTO8 has teamed up with the Tourism Café Canada to offer four new online courses to help you prepare for the future.  

Courses are free in the month of April to tourism business in the Kawarthas Northumberland region.  We have 2 topics and 4 options.

Topic 1: Trends

1. Tap in to Trends (Self-Paced Online Course)

Ever wish you could look into a crystal ball and forecast the right answers? This past year changed the trajectory for the tourism industry, pushed the entrepreneurial spirit to heights, and we aren’t done innovating yet! The factors influencing tourism are evolving so rapidly yet there are key trends worth noting can help guide your experience development, market focus, and guide tactical, practical actions you can take right now. This 45-minute course can be completed at your own speed, on any device (tablet, computer, or phone), and at any time of the day.

2. Trends Talk (Blended Online Course – Maximum 12 participants)

There is no playbook for the future for tourism but tapping into trends can help guide your decision-making as the tourism industry stages its comeback from the  COVID-19 pandemic. This two-part course begins with the Tap into Trends self-paced course you complete at your own speed, on any device (tablet, computer, or phone). It is then followed by an interactive, online trends discussion, led by Nancy Arsenault of the Tourism Café on Tuesday, April 27th @ 11:00- 12:00.

Topic 2: Costing and Pricing

1. Costing and Pricing Visitor Experiences (Self-Paced Online Course)

Has Covid left you wondering about what price to charge for your visitor experiences in 2021? Why not take the uncertainty out of the equation with this 6-part, self-paced course that addresses defining value, costing basics, and walks you through how to use a costing template– that you get to keep – that auto-calculates your cost inputs and provides the information needed for to set the price for your visitor experience. 

2. Enhanced Costing and Pricing Visitor Experiences (Blended Online Course – Maximum 12 participants)

This two-part course begins with the Costing and Pricing Visitor Experiences self-paced course you complete at your own speed, on any device (tablet, computer, or phone). It is then followed by an interactive, online discussion led by Nancy Arsenault of the Tourism Café who designed the template and refined it during COVID-19 based on the information requested by operators to help them set the price and understand the revenue potential for each visitor experience to include in their budget forecasts. Take the self-paced course, use the template to work through your own tour or visitor experience, and come ready with your questions on Wednesday, April 28th @ 11:00- 12:00.
