GMIST offers a full range of programs to help tourism businesses and destinations enhance their visitor experience programming within strong sustainable tourism practices. Below are a number of their current training offerings.
ACTivate 2025
GMIST’s Community Development Program, ACTivate (Activating Community Tourism), returns in 2025! Designed for community change leaders, ACTivate focuses on a citizen-led, holistic approach to tourism and community developmentābecause a great place to live is a great place to visit. An Information Session will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 1:00 PM AST / 1:30 PM NST, and applications open April 17, closing May 8. Attendance or viewing of the session is required before applying.
This learning series with Kerry Anne MacDougall is back by popular demand! There are three awesome sessions designed to get you thinking differently about your marketing efforts: Mindset & Marketing on April 22, Branding Driven Marketing on April 29 and Storytelling for Tourism Operators on May 6. These 90 minute virtual sessions are delivered via Zoom. Space is limited and you must apply for each session individually.
