WHAT'S NEW

Planning for 2022 -23

We’re looking for our next project to bring visitors into communities and public art is a way to do just that. We are asking our Trent-Severn Trail Town committees to submit their ideas for public art within their communities. This can be a mural, statue, sculpture, garden or art installation. It can be in the downtown core, on a waterway facing building, in a park; it’s up to you to think of what would look great in your community and how RTO8 can support the project. Spring Maple Campaign

Calling All Culinary Providers within Kawarthas Northumberland! RTO8 wants to showcase your maple themed culinary products this spring. The region has a number of maple syrup producers that we would like to tap into and offer products for visitors to sample from baked goods, candied appetizers to syrupy entrées and sweet drinks. Let RTO8 know your maple flavoured product to be featured in Kawarthas Northumberland’s spring campaign. Your product will need to be ready or in market by late February and available until the end of May. Please email tracy@birchbarkmedia.com with your product details.

Tourism Connects: Online Courses

We are excited to be introducing a suite of bilingual self-paced courses over the fall and winter as we rebuild our industry’s capacity and rebound from COVID-19. RTO8 stakeholders – tourism businesses, organizations, associations, and professionals located within Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough City or County and Northumberland County – will have free access to these courses until March 31, 2022.

The tourism industry was one of the hardest hit by the pandemic and as we focus on recovery, we believe a mentoring program can help your business rebuild and achieve business growth.

Taste of the Trent-Severn Waterway Culinary Program

Calling all Culinary Providers within Kawarthas Northumberland. We’re reaching out to all food & beverage producers and providers within Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough City and County and Northumberland County to get creative and showcase a culinary product created to commemorate the 101st anniversary of through navigation on the Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site of Canada.

Trent-Seven Trail Town Paddle Art Project

We’re inviting artists within the Kawarthas Northumberland region to get creative and design a wooden paddle that depicts the uniqueness or the history of one of the nine designated Trent-Severn Trail Town (TSTT) communities. The communities are: Campbellford, Hastings, Lakefield, Buckhorn, Bobcaygeon, Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Coboconk and Rosedale.
