2026/27 Partnership Funding Program Now Open
RTO8’s focus is to help tourism businesses within the regions of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, the City of Peterborough and the County of Peterborough build capacity and drive growth to the visitor economy within the region. Visitors are those who travel 40+ kilometres (one-way) to spend money in a community they neither work nor live in.
The Partnership Funding Program is not a grant or a year-over-year funding program. Details of the funding categories and required process to apply can be found on the Partnership Funding Program Overview noted below.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Established for-profit tourism businesses (incorporated OR with an active CRA business number that hold all required operating permits and have direct access to consumers and rely on consumer spending as their primary source of income).
- First Nations tourism businesses (51%+ Indigenous owned and controlled operating within the RTO8 geographic region).
- Destination Marketing Organizations (DMOs), Chambers of Commerce / BIAs that include tourism within their portfolio or municipalities that represent or manage tourism partners and are delivering a specific project that provides direct benefits to tourism operators.
Projects applying for funding must commence and be fully completed between May 18, 2026, and February 12, 2027, to be considered.
Only one intake with a deadline to submit applications of Monday, April 6, 2026.
